Title: Port Of Antwerp-Bruges: Navigating towards Data Democratization
Presenter: Jan Meskens

Abstract: Data democratization is an essential step to becoming a data-driven organization. It envisions data accessibility for all employees and relevant stakeholders regardless of their technical background. This talk shows how Port Of Antwerp-Bruges floats towards data democratization. We give practical examples by focusing on four topics:

1. People – employees and stakeholders stepping on board of a data-centric organization

2. Processes – helping to manage data in environments where almost everyone starts to work with data.

3. Tools – diversified data products like Power BI, an in-house built Digital Twin, or a Geographic Information System helps people with different backgrounds and different purposes to work with data.

4. Data – combining your data with relevant open data to empower people in drawing the right insights using their tools.

Title: Power BI Dataset Checklist
Presenter: Kurt Buhler
Ref: www.data-goblins.com/checklists
Abstract: We want to create good Power BI datasets, but what does that mean? There’s so much to consider, so how can we be sure that we’ve done the right things? What might we still do to ensure our datasets deliver business value? In this session, we walk through selected items in the ‘Dataset Checklist’, looking at what’s important when creating a typical Power BI Dataset, end-to-end. From the design to building the different parts – Power Query, data model & DAX – as well as handover, documentation & training, this session will give you an overview of key considerations both before you publish & afterwards.
