Exploring the Future: Our First SAP TechEd Online Adventure

Attending SAP TechEd online for the first time was an exciting experience for us. The scale of the event, combined with the new technologies being showcased, made it an memorable event. From the comfort behind our screens we tuned in to sessions that revealed SAP’s plans for the future, particularly its advances in AI, cloud technology and data analytics.
One of the most exciting announcements was SAP’s enhancement of Joule, its AI assistant, with new collaborative AI agents. These agents are designed to work together across different business areas, making processes smoother and faster.
The integration of Joule as a helpful AI tool in SAP Analytics Cloud will be released by the end of 2024 (Q4). Creating simple visuals and reports will become near instantaneous with the help of this generative AI copilot. Additionally, planning users will be able to get work done faster and drive better business outcomes in a secure, compliant way.
The event also highlighted improvements in the way SAP manages data. For example, SAP introduced a new data lake capability for SAP Datasphere, which will be available by the end of 2024 (Q4). This feature will help companies integrate and manage their data more effectively.
And for us consultants, the focus on learning was particularly exciting! SAP introduced 60 new training programs and certifications, demonstrating its commitment to helping people gain new skills.
Nicolas: My first experience of SAP TechEd online was very inspiring. I am excited by SAP’s plans for Joule’s enhanced AI agents, which have a lot of potential. The new data lake capabilities look also very promising as such features were not yet present in the SAP world.
Seppe: It was an enriching two days at SAP TechEd! Personally, I’m really excited about the new data lake capability for SAP Datasphere. I can’t wait to see its impact by the end of 2024, the possibilities will be endless. Seeing these advances first-hand was incredible, and I’m truly grateful to have had the opportunity to attend this year’s SAP TechEd.
Matijs: My first impression was the level of enthusiasm and professionalism that SAP brought to TechEd. The future of SAP applications lies heavily in the AI field. The integration of Joule, SAP’s own AI co-pilot, across the BTP landscape looks especially promising. Simplifying and streamlining workflows, particularly in the cloud seems like SAP’s focus in the coming year.
