Why did you choose Lytix?
Several things drew me to Lytix. Their commitment to continuous development and the strong in-house expertise within the team immediately caught my attention. A recommendation from people in my network only strengthened that first impression. But what really sealed the deal was the interview itself. The warmth of the people I met and the welcoming atmosphere at the head office made it clear this was a place I wanted to be.
What did you do before Lytix?
I completed a PhD in psychology at KU Leuven, working at the intersection of psychology and linguistics. More specifically, I studied semantic models built from word association data and text corpora. After that, I spent some time living in Indonesia and working at an international university before returning to Belgium, where I continued to develop my expertise in data analysis.
If you could have a meeting with a historical figure, who would it be and why?
So many options to choose from… but I’d go with Richard Feynman. I did have to quickly verify whether he actually qualifies as “historical”, but apparently historians consider anything roughly 30 years in the past fair game, so we’re good. I’ve read several of his books and watched a number of documentaries about him, and he’s simply a fascinating character. What strikes me most is his gift for making incredibly complex concepts feel intuitive and accessible. I’d love to sit down with him, hear about his unconventional hobbies, and finally understand how nature works. Though knowing myself, that understanding would probably only last for the duration of the conversation itself.
