Welcome Jan Van Humbeek

Welcome Jan Van Humbeek! Happy to announce our newest colleague!
Best of luck, Jan!

Why did Jan choose for Lytix?

For me there are 2 important factors when choosing a company to work with: the team, and the team.
You might wonder, that’s the same thing? Though it’s really not…

First of all, there’s team atmosphere. At Lytix everyone is very sociable and it’s easy to engage with the colleagues beyond the work.
Shaping a bond between co-workers is an important factor that should not be overlooked, and this is what Lytix does exceptionally well.
With different activities throughout the year, and a WhatsApp group to share thoughts with the colleagues, there’s never the feeling of being left out at a client and having no connection.

Secondly, there’s the “work” team.
One of the key success factors is the ability to create an environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged and stimulated.
There are multiple ways for someone to share their thoughts or pick the brains of the colleagues through organized monthly meetings, webinars, or blogposts.

In short: every company can hire consultants and do projects, or place them at clients but creating and maintaining the bond between them is what makes it a great place to work.

What did Jan do before Lytix?

My entire professional career has been focused on the Microsoft Data Platform.

Starting out in 2010 using SQL Server 2005 and its associated BI tooling to where we are now with SQL Server 2019 (and 2022 on the horizon) and the entire Azure Data Platform.

I’ve had experience in team coaching and competence center leadership at both clients and former employers, which is why I value team effort so much.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Cats, definitely !
As a servant to 5 cats at home, there’s never a dull moment.

I love coming up with nicknames for them, for instance our “OC” (original cat ) is named Manny and he’s a little grumpy one so my girlfriend calls him the Emperor. Adding on to that, his full name is now Manny Purror (because cats… purr ) or M. Purror for short.
