Welcome Julie Robbrecht!
Meet Julie, our newest colleague at Lytix! After several years combining data, strategy and reporting, she was ready to get closer to the technical side again. Discover what brought her to Lytix and get to know the person behind the profile.
Why did you choose Lytix?
I first came into contact with Lytix through a friend who connected me with someone working here. We had a quick chat online and I immediately got the impression that Lytix was a place where people are enthusiastic about what they do. It also made me curious to learn more about the company and the people behind it.
At this point in my career, I was looking for a new technical challenge. I had spent quite some time working on more strategic and management-oriented topics, and I wanted to get closer to the technology and the actual data again.
The interview process only reinforced the feeling. I spoke to quite a few people and really appreciated the friendly, down-to-earth and no-nonsense vibe. At the same time, it was clear that there is a lot of technical expertise within the team, which was exactly the kind of environment I was looking for.
And, of course, the peaceful view from the office is a nice plus!
What did you do before Lytix?
Throughout my career so far, I’ve focused on helping organisations make better use of their data and turn it into something people can actually use to make decisions.
I’ve worked on setting up data teams and defining the ways of working around data, including governance, reporting processes and data architecture. A big part of my work has also been around translating business objectives into meaningful metrics and intuitive dashboards, with a strong focus on visual data storytelling.
I’ve also taken on reporting-focused roles, building Power BI dashboards across different domains, particularly HR and cybersecurity. Along the way, I’ve trained both developers and end users in Power BI, helping teams become more confident and self-sufficient in working with data.
If you could wake up anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be and why?
If I could wake up anywhere in the world tomorrow, I would probably choose New York or London.
I’ve lived in London for a few years because of work and really loved the opportunities it offers, whether that’s career-wise, discovering a new restaurant or neighbourhood, or simply meeting people from all over the world. I imagine New York takes that experience to another level, so I definitely wouldn’t mind spending a few years there and experiencing it myself!
And if neither of those works out… waking up somewhere by the sea in a tropical country sounds like a pretty good plan B too 😉
