Welcome Kenneth Emerson!

Meet our newest Lytix colleague: Kenneth Emerson! If you would like to know more about who Kenneth is, what he did before and why he chose Lytix, be sure to read on! 👇🏻

Why did you choose Lytix?

There were various factors that set Lytix apart. The opportunity to work on diverse customer-specific and internal data projects, the focus on knowledge sharing and continuous learning, and the chance to work with cutting-edge cloud and big data technologies all resonated with what I was looking for. But what truly persuaded me was the recurring openness and welcoming atmosphere I encountered throughout each of the interviews.

What did you do before Lytix?

I’ve started my career in education, teaching applied mechanics and industrial automation to adolescents and junior chemical process operators. I always enjoyed teaching, but after more than a decade, I kind of felt the urge to explore new horizons. So, transitioning to the industry, I worked as a consultant on several industrial IT projects, both as a business analyst and project manager.

When the news came out in 2016 that Deepmind’s AlphaGo succeeded in defeating the world champion Go (a boardgame that is considered to be extremely complex due to its number of potential moves), I got really fascinated in everything related to Artificial Intelligence and big data. So I ended up getting an additional degree in Computer Science with a specialisation in AI and joined a startup in Antwerp about three years ago where I was a Machine Learning engineer and developer.

If you could have a dinner with any fictional character? Who would it be and why?

That’s a tough one. I think I’d rather have a conversation with a ‘real’ character,  so just book me a table with someone who has an interesting story to tell and dinner’s on me.
