Welcome Kris Franckx!

Meet Kris Franckx, our new Data Consultant at Lytix! After working as a mathematics teacher, Kris decided it was time for a new challenge and made the switch to a career in data.

We’re happy to welcome him to the team and wish him every success as he starts this new chapter at Lytix. Read his full interview below to get to know Kris a little better!

Why did you choose Lytix?

After 13 years as a mathematics teacher, I noticed that my interests were shifting in a different direction. Over the past few years, I increasingly focused on upskilling myself and working on small IT projects. Little by little, the idea of taking a new professional direction started to grow. Making the switch to IT was no walk in the park. As a career switcher, I found that it wasn’t always easy to find an organisation that looked primarily at your potential and opportunities for growth, rather than just your previous experience.

And that’s where Lytix came in. From the very first conversation, it felt like a great fit: people-oriented, no-nonsense, and with a strong focus on people, growth and development. The warm culture within the organisation immediately stood out to me. The interactions I had with the people at Lytix in the months that followed only confirmed that feeling.

I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter!

What did you do before joining Lytix?

For the past 13 years, I worked as a mathematics teacher. In recent years, I was also responsible for safety and infrastructure at school. It was a role with diverse responsibilities that gave me a lot of satisfaction and taught me a great deal about people, communication and collaboration. At the same time, I became increasingly interested in IT and digital technologies. I’m now bringing that combination of my experience as a teacher and my growing interest in technology into my first professional step in the IT world.

What’s still on your bucket list?

Three years ago, I wrote on my bucket list:
“Make a successful career switch into data/IT before turning forty.”
I can tick that one off now — just in time.
So, for the moment, my bucket list is empty. All suggestions are welcome…!
