Welcome Maarten De Court!

Say hi to our new Lytix colleague: Maarten De Court! Maarten has just graduated from Ghent University and is starting his career as a data consultant at Lytix. Through 3 short questions, you can get to know Maarten a little better. Curious? Then be sure to read on!

Why did you choose Lytix?

I’ve always preferred a smaller, more dynamic environment where I can be more than just another face in the crowd. With Lytix, I found that perfect fit. It felt like a place where my voice would matter. Plus, the culture at Lytix is refreshing – it’s full of young, like-minded people, and I had a feeling I’d fit right in.

Another big factor was my love for data. It’s not just my educational background; it’s the foundation of how I think. I like knowing that decisions are made based on facts and insights, not guesses. There’s something satisfying about working with data, it’s like uncovering hidden truths to make smarter decisions. At Lytix, I get to do just that.

What did you do before Lytix?

Before joining Lytix, I completed a master’s in business engineering with a focus on data analytics at Ghent University. Most of my hands-on experience with machine learning and data analytics comes from my academic work, where I took on various interesting projects. Also, I worked as a bartender for 6 years during summer and I volunteered as a youth worker at KSA Haaltert.

If you could switch for a day with someone, who would it be and why?

Rapper, songwriter and producer Ken Carson, an upcoming talent in the US hip-hop scene. I’d love to know what it would be like to perform for large crowds, have people screaming my songs and have the music industry at my feet.
