Fanuc: from fragmented systems to a modern lakehouse data platform
Microsoft Fabric
Power BI
Azure
Fanuc is a Japanese group of companies that provide automation products and services such as robotics and computer numerical control wireless systems. Present with over 10.000 employees in over 100 countries from more than 270 service locations
The challenge
FANUC needed a modernized, unified reporting environment capable of consolidating data from SAP S/4HANA and JD Edwards into a single trusted platform.
The existing setup relied on manual exports, disconnected systems, and inconsistent reporting logic. This fragmented landscape made it difficult to maintain a single version of the truth and introduced inefficiencies in data management, governance, and analytics delivery.
Our solution
A modern data platform in Microsoft Fabric was designed following the lakehouse structure to standardize data ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
Data was extracted from SAP using SAP Datasphere and from JD Edwards using Oracle connectors.
A metadata-driven orchestration framework was implemented to control configuration, logging, and process scheduling.
The business value
The platform provides one single source of truth.
The new Fabric platform enables one single source of truth across SAP and JDE data. FANUC now benefits from automated, traceable data flows, eliminating manual interventions and ensuring consistent, high-quality data across all layers.
The solution accelerates reporting and analytics development while reducing maintenance overhead. With its scalable and auditable architecture, the platform sets a solid foundation for future expansion — including AI, predictive analytics, and advanced manufacturing insights.
