Normec Advipro: modernizing reporting with Microsoft Fabric

Normec is an international group of 5,000+ employees that helps organisations guarantee quality, safety & compliance. Their Belgian subsidiary, Normec AdviPro, is a specialized consulting and engineering firm focused on the life sciences sector. It supports pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare companies with quality assurance, validation and compliance in highly regulated environments.

The challenge

Data was scattered across Advipro’s reporting landscape relied heavily on manual Excel exports from systems such as IonBiz, SDWorx and Exact Online.

Data was fragmented, transformations were performed offline, and Power BI dashboards were disconnected from live data.

This approach limited automation, scalability and data reliability for key operational domains such as staffing, forecasting and margin analysis.

Our solution

A modern data platform in Microsoft Fabric was designed to centralize data and automate the full reporting process.

Using metadata-driven framework, data from IonBiz, SDWorx and Exact Online is ingested into OneLake following the lakehouse setup.

Data processing is automated with notebooks and pipelines, while Power BI semantic models deliver integrated dashboards for operational KPIs, forecasting and margin analysis.

The business value

The platform provides one single source of truth.

The new platform provides a single version of the truth across all operational and financial domains.

Reports are now refreshed automatically, drastically reducing manual effort and improving accuracy.

Decision-makers gain faster, data-driven insights into productivity, staffing and profitability. With its low-maintenance, scalable Fabric setup, Advipro can easily expand to new use cases while maintaining full security and governance control.
