Trafic: modernizing retail reporting with Microsoft Fabric and automated data integration

Trafic is a Belgian retail chain specializing in the sale of various non-food product ranges: kitchenware, small electronics, toys, stationery, decoration, drugstore items, pet care, fashion, jewelry and cosmetics, shoes, DVDs, CDs and books, and DIY products.
The challenge
Sogesma’s reporting environment relied on manual data exchanges between SAP BW, Salesforce and Marketing Cloud through local scripts and SFTP servers.
Data was fragmented, slow to update, and lacked a single trusted source.
The company needed an easy-to-use, low-maintenance data platform that could automate data flows, ensure GDPR compliance, and integrate seamlessly with Power BI — without depending on technical or IT-heavy resources.
Our solution
A modern data platform in Microsoft Fabric was implemented to unify Sogesma’s data from SAP BW, Salesforce SFTP and Boomi. The setup follows the lakehouse structure for structured ingestion, transformation and serving.
Data is securely transferred via push pipelines to OneLake, processed with notebooks and metadata-driven pipelines, and modeled into reusable semantic models for Power BI.
Governance and security are ensured through Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, and DevOps integration for version control and CI/CD.
The business value
The new platform delivers a single version of the truth across customer, ticket and marketing data.
Reporting is now automated and refreshed daily, eliminating manual scripting and improving accuracy.
Business users gain faster, actionable insights for operational and marketing performance, while IT benefits from simplified maintenance and lower cost.
With its secure, scalable Fabric foundation, Sogesma is ready to expand toward finance, procurement and AI-driven analytics.
